Fellow Lions, 

Webster defines a Pioneer as "one who leads the way; making way for a stronger future for others:" District 16-A had many "pioneers" who were responsible for making our District a premier group of respected Lions recognized throughout the realms of Lionism. As a tribute to these Lions who have "blazed the trails" over the years and to those who will do so in the future, I established the District 16-A Pioneer Award during my term as Governor in 1995-1996.  By doing so, distinguished Lions could continue to be honored for their contributions in making District 16-A and now, 16-N a leader in Lionism.
